Based in Moorpark, California, Ahmad Davari is an artist whose creative life has been a journey through diverse forms of expression. His story begins on the stage. As a young man, he trained professionally in theatre and worked as a professional mime, mastering the art of non-verbal storytelling and dramatic composition. This foundation in performance, which relies on gesture and form, deeply informs his visual art. For many years, Ahmad's artistic outlet was the disciplined world of graphic design and illustration. His preferred tools were pen and ink, where every line is deliberate and permanent. He created intricate designs and detailed illustrations, showcasing a sharp eye for composition and detail. However, it was late in life that he discovered a new artistic language—one that offered more freedom, spontaneity, and surprise. Upon learning watercolor, he fell in love with the medium's fluid, unpredictable nature. It was a perfect contrast to the precise control of his earlier work. Today, his paintings are a celebration of this passion. He focuses on the subjects that move him most: the rolling hills of the local landscape, the quiet dignity of an animal, and the intricate beauty of the natural world.
